Group classes are taught at Three Notch Veterinary Hospital in Hollywood MD
on Saturday mornings. We teach indoors but also practice out side weather permitting. Well-behaved children (and spouses) are always welcome!
Puppy Kindergarten ($100) - This class is held on an as needed basis.

This class is for puppies between 10 weeks and 3 months of age. The goal of this class is socialization, the introduction of basic commands, and tips for long-term training plans. The class meets for 45 minutes for 4 sessions and covers the following:
Class 1. Playtime / Socialization / Manners (jumping, chewing, - 5 minute rule, general problem solving) / Q&A (Housebreaking, separation anxiety, introducing to new things, etc)
Class 2. Playtime / Socialization / Introduction to Sit-Stay - Down-Stay / Q&A
Class 3. Playtime / Socialization / Come / Q&A
Class 4. Playtime / Socialization / Walking on a loose leash / Q&A
Based on the individual puppies in the class, different issues and objectives can be added. The class size is limited to 4-5 dogs in order to avoid overwhelming young puppies.
Basic Obedience - $200 - Check the Schedule page for dates
This class is intended to lay the foundation you’ll use to communicate with your dog.
Dogs 4 months and older (never too old) are welcome. This course lasts 8 weeks and includes one class of orientation without your dog and 7 weeks of instruction with you and your dog. For each class, you’ll be provided homework and tip sheets that will help you remember and practice each lesson. Dogs that have little training or dogs (and owners)
that need more consistency make up these classes. The class size
is limited to 9-10 dogs so everyone can receive individual attention. You’ll learn:
Sit
Down
Walking on a loose leash
Wait
Stay
Recall (Come)
Formal Return
This class also includes voluntary playtime where
the dogs can interact under close supervision to build those much needed
social skills.
Intermediate Obedience (Includes Canine Good Citizen –CGC- Training
and Evaluation) -$200
This Class is held on an as needed basis.

This class is for dogs and owners that have a good understanding of the basic commands and want to go that extra step. The class runs 7 weeks and ends with the CGC exam given at the last session. This class is limited to 6-7 dogs so that we have plenty of time to work individually and as a group. We practice the normal exercises with more distractions while adding the CGC exercises:
Meeting a stranger
Meeting a new dog
Walking through a crowd on a loose leash
Accepting grooming
Heeling
Supervised separation
Sit/Down/Stay
Coming when called
Novice Obedience Competition (Price based on individual needs)
For those dogs and handlers that are interested in the world of competition, this class introduces correct footwork, precision, and exercises that are scored as in an obedience trial.
Private Lessons and Consultations
$75 / hour at our home
$100 / hour at your home or a location of your choice (within 30 miles)
For those dogs that are not good candidates for a group setting (fearful, aggressive, not socialized) or for owners that just want more focused attention, we offer private meeting at your home at our home. We offer problem-solving advice for a wide range of issues. This includes aggression toward strangers or other dogs, separation anxiety, housebreaking, introduction of a new baby or dog to the household and much more as needed. The same structure we provide in the group lessons for basic and intermediate obedience is also offered in this setting. Most clients find they can complete the series in 3-4 lessons with one-on-one instruction.
